Until we breathe I, II, III
Photography

The housing crisis has taken on quite a significant dimension in my country, and combined with a prevailing trend of gentrification, it creates many problems for residents, particularly in larger cities like Athens or Thessaloniki. More and more houses and apartments are being turned into Airbnb properties, resulting in skyrocketing rent prices and making it impossible for city residents to find a place to live. The space of the photographs represents yet another area that was destined to be converted into an Airbnb. A group of people entered the space three days before it was turned into an Airbnb, and with the support of the community, a hub of resistance was created. For three days, the space was filled with people, music, and art. Residents partially reclaimed the space, offering a glimmer of hope for everyone. The photos were taken during these 3 days when I visited the space to support this movement.
